The first thing I think of when I think of France is Gojira

Really? I tend to think of unshaved women and German invasions.

Yep femmes with hairy armpits, smelly cheese, nasty farmers and truck drivers and German invasions (ah you already said that!)

I like Gojira quite a bit. I've only bought The Way of All Flesh so far, but I still want to pick up From Mars to Sirius sometime soon. I haven't checked out their other material yet.

I don't know why I've been so slow to adopt these guys. I got L'enfant Sauvage quite a while ago and love it but somehow always forget to listen to it. Now I'm listening to From Mars to Sirius and loving that. Any suggestions on what I should check out next?

From Mars to Sirius is the only album I have by them and I love it. I should probably check out their latest, but I think I'm going to go with The Link. I'm curious to hear what they sounded like before FMTS.

Also, a quick search of them lead me to a band called Empalot, another band the Duplantier brothers formed. If I remember correctly, you're into Mr. Bungle and this track by Empalot (the first song I've heard by them) is reminiscent of them. Kind of amusing.

Extremely solid band.

I remember being blown away by the musicianship on their albums. Just really impresses.
