All of my music knowledge falls into those two decades! :\ Maybe in 30 years...

u need to step yo game up then :P

Going on the era when these bands were formed, I'd say.

60's
Genesis
The Who
Pink Floyd
The Kinks
The Doors

70's
The Clash
Dead Kennedy's
The Cure
The Replacements
Talking Heads

80's
Cap'n Jazz
Afghan Whigs
REM
Pixies
Alice in Chains

90's
Neutral Milk Hotel
The Dismemberment Plan
Anathema
Jimmy Eat World
Mew

2000's
Brand New
Pianos Beome The Teeth
This Town Needs Guns
The Gaslight Anthem
Foals

2010's
BadBadNotGood
Iceage
The Tower and The Fool
Dowsing
Purity Ring

Clutching at straws for bands from the last 3 years and probably missed a lot. But what can one do?

Thats a nice list. I like a lot of the same mentioned myself.

Genesis
The Who
Pink Floyd
Doors (more respect than liking their music)
The Cure
Talking Heads (they have a feww singles I consider true classics)
REM (Coudln't say enough good about REM)
Alice in Chains (one of my favorite too)
Jimmy Eat World (I remember there is something I like by them, cant remember at this moment)

Good list Mankycaaant.

There are probably a few different things you could call it: the teens, the 10s, the 2010s. But one thing is certain, calling it "the 21st" makes no sense.
