Felix Da Housecat is house! The Crystal Method are good techno, both as producers and artists.

Rammstein sucks?!??! What's the matter with you? Nine Inch Nails is good?!?!? I can't believe this... This is a metal forum, not a forum for pop crap.

Rammstein is about as metal as Hilary Duff is a good actor.

Oh no he di'nt!

DearJenny 08-29-2007 12:01 AM

VNV Nation(a favorite of mine)
Frontline Assembly
Covenant
Nueroticfish
Front 242
Project Pitchfork
Bauhaus
Sisters of Mercy

My list is more mainstream techno-type that you'd find in an industrial dance club.
Wumpscut
Zeromancer

So goth/death rock and EBM are industrial? Thanks for informing me.

This is the sort of post that pisses me off. Maybe some of those bands are not classed as industrial, so why not say that in an intelligent manner? I'm not au fait with all the shítty fúcking sub genres. That does not mean I don't know what I'm talking about.

City was suggesting some bands to help a fellow poster hear new music, whether they fall under the Industrial music category is immaterial. It's music. If it sounds good, who the fúck gives a **** what it is?

I'm sorry, but I have had my fill of sub fúcking genres. The I KNOW THEIR GENRE BETTER THAN YOU mentality is pathetic and will wear thin very quickly.

The Unfan-I'm sorry this is not a personal diatribe;more a rant at peoples utter stupidity at labelling stuff.

I agree. Everyone should learn the difference between EBM and industrial.

BurntChildren19 08-31-2007 07:57 AM

Get the album Animatronic by The Kovenant... it's beautyeous.

Also KMFDM is great, and MDFMK just as great.

Zero Signal 08-31-2007 05:39 PM

Siser Machine Gun is another great one. Chris Randall has a way of experimenting a lot and still aking good music!

wow dude, why do you even care if they are not exactly Industrial? If they have similar musical characteristics then there should be not problem getting into them if you have an open mind.

I don't, and in fact I enjoy EBM and death/goth rock too. I just think that if someone makes a topic asking about industrial it might be confusing if people keep recommending things that aren't industrial.

Levithan 09-06-2007 05:42 AM

OhGr
Combichrist
Skinny Puppy
Infected Mushroom

They are the ones I like...

jackhammer 09-06-2007 12:03 PM

I hate genre tagging (as people now know!) but Infected Mushroom are certainly NOT industrial. Techno would be the catch all tag for them.

Levithan 09-06-2007 12:27 PM

Fair enough...

Farfisa 05-15-2008 03:31 AM

Could someone hook me up with some good industrial rock? I already have some Godflesh, Ministry and early Pitchshifter.

I can hook you up with Skinny Puppy, Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, or KMFDM later today if you want. I'll actually send you them this time. Promise.

Edit* And I have a lot of Godflesh if you're missing some of their stuff

rundonnierun 05-29-2008 05:01 PM

KMDFM, Godflesh, Throbbing Gristle, Einsturzende Neubauten, Skinny Puppy...I think the rest have been mentioned in prior posts so hopefully they were covered already. I'm sure I repeated all of the ones I mentioned.

Good luck with your hunt.

Demonoid 05-30-2008 07:56 AM

Godflesh are quite cool.
Front 242 and Fear Factory are quite good too.

The rest obvious one's have already been mentioned.

DragHustler 09-17-2008 03:02 PM

venetian snares, syrian, combichrist, KMFDM, headscan, spetnaz, reaper, modulate, velvet acid christ, covenant, juno reactor, mindless self indulgence, some nine inch nails (not all of it is industrial techno...but there are a couple)

classylady 09-18-2008 10:47 AM

Since most of the bands I respect in the genre have already been mentioned, I'll just name actual CDs that were great IMHO:

1) Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine: One of the rare CDs that I own that I can listen to from beginning to end as if it blends into each other.

2) Front Line Assembly - Hard Wired: After Tactical Neural Implant and Millennium, I didn't think they could release a better CD, but they did!

3) Covenant - United States of Mind

4) Wumpscut - Bunker Gate Seven

5) Leaetherstrip - Suicide Bombers

6) Killing Joke - Pandemonium

7) KMFDM - XTORT

8) Combichrist - Everybody Hates You

9) Skinny Puppy - Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse

10) Front 242 - Tyranny For You

jackhammer 09-19-2008 01:20 AM

^^

At last. Someone with some good knowledge of the genre. some great choices there. Chuck some Cubanate in there and you'll die happy.

classylady 09-19-2008 11:01 AM

Ahh Cubanate! Least I forgot this short-lived band (wished they had stayed together), but I have one word: Oxyacetylene

I saw them perform with Cyberactif and Acumen and that was insane! I was with my ex-boyfriend @ the time and 2 of my closest friends: The crowd went nuts during that song!

...and least I forget Barbarossa with the title single and Joy. Jeeze those are kickin' tunes!

Grunge_Junkie 09-19-2008 11:36 AM

ahh here is a couple i like.

Rammstein
Mushroomhead
Static X

Katscan-Feral Bios
Mindless Faith-Medication For The Misinformed

I was listening to the track Parasite from the Katscan CD Feral Bios. It's pretty catchy & I like the drum snares that they decided to put in there just to mess w/ the listener. Thing is, it works!

"Heads I win, Tails you loose
I have no time to suffer fools

I have no time to suffer you!"

jackhammer 09-26-2008 02:05 PM

Anybody into G.G.F.H? Damn fine Industrial and quite creepy too. I only have a compilation The Very Beast Of. I would love to hear more. Their stage shows are supposed to be something else too.

theSlip 10-02-2008 10:44 AM

Nine Inch Nails (Preferably pre- "With Teeth")
Ministry
Peaches
Prodigy

HATER 10-05-2008 06:09 AM

3 words C0P SHOOT COP

jackhammer 10-06-2008 12:29 PM

Or three words: ICON OF COIL. Excellent stuff.

Molecules 10-06-2008 12:42 PM

the only group i can recommend in good conscience are Skinny Puppy, but then this is not my area. Also Infected Mushroom are psytrance, whoever it was that suggested them.
