I'm starting to dig the Chili Peppers. Their music is nice to mellow out to. My favorite song from them would have to be Otherside.

I was thinking more along the lines of their Californiacation album which is the first album I downloaded from them.

Hardly a relaxing album. Half the songs are wild. By The Way is probably best for sittin back.

Oh it lacks the punk, so that's why I love it then.

It's very much like BSSM in the sense that it's pretty bad overall and only has a couple good songs on it. On a personal level it's also like BSSM for me because I went into it with high expectations of a really good album and was sorely disappointed. Silly me, for god knows what reason, at the time I thought Dave fucking Navarro might actually help get them back on track musically.
No, just... no.

No in the sense of what? You don't think they're similar?

Hey, I'll have you know this conversation actually inspired me to go back and listen to BSSM for, I think, the first time since I was in my teens. I wrote a little review based on the experience: http://www.musicbanter.com/album-rev...sex-magik.html

I really did try to approach it with an open mind since I hadn't heard it in so long. And, no, I haven't reversed my opinion of the album but there are certain things I appreciate about it now. You might get a kick out of the review.

I think he means BSSM isnt a bad overall album.

Yeah.

And does anyone else notice that I'm always the one defending bands most popular albums. No they're not always the best, but it sames like whatever a bands most popular album is, a lot of their fans have to pretend it's the worst thing they ever done.
