If it's a sign that he's embracing his age and it reflects in their music, I think it could be a good thing...

A former fellow musician from a cover band once dyed his eyebrows & stash because my wife told him that he resembled Tom Selleck (he's blond).

By all means my young friend, I am sure that they (most all bands) that stay together for atleast two to three decades, (sometimes) develope more artistical material later in their career's, usually sometimes produce some of their best material, or as good as their original debut's or just as good either way.

I think their more "popular" stuff is the best and their older stuff was appalling. Californication, Under the Bridge, Soul To Squeeze, Cant Stop etc. were all good fun pop/rock songs. Their first three albums are unlistenable to me with Kiedis' horrible vocals. Although I do admit "Fight Like A Brave" is a lethal song.

Yeah, most people on this forum are going to disagree with you. I agree that the pop/rock songs that they wrote later in their career are some of the best music you heard on modern rock radio at the time, but their earlier material still represents their apex. It was the peak of their creative and artistic statement. Vocals really shouldn't be able to keep you from appreciating their greatness of the time because they are secondary in their sound...

Don't get me wrong I love Flea's bass and I can appreciate good music even if it has bad vocals but there is just something about their earlier stuff that I find extremely irritating.
