The lyrics are super-pretentious and bad, and the vocals are pretty freaking grating. Some of the music is actually pretty good, but a lot of it goes nowhere fast.

I tune out the vocals meself. The lyrics are alright, although I hate when Petrucci tries to write them.

Yeah I know its a super deep metaphor for poverty and world peace right? He still talks about traveling through space, that's sci-fi.

I'll openly admit that the lyrics are pointless ****, but they're is only one line that could be considered sci-fi.

you know we all travel through space and time all the time right? it's not exactly a fiction. these lyrics appear to be, like almost all of their other lyrics, about internal turmoil.

but look, lyrics like this really bother me:
