Yeah I know its a super deep metaphor for poverty and world peace right? He still talks about traveling through space, that's sci-fi.

I'll openly admit that the lyrics are pointless ****, but they're is only one line that could be considered sci-fi.

If the lyrics are pointless shit then why did you say they weren't actually talking about space travel?

They express themselves through their music, what other point is there? My point stands.

you know we all travel through space and time all the time right? it's not exactly a fiction. these lyrics appear to be, like almost all of their other lyrics, about internal turmoil.

but look, lyrics like this really bother me:

Obsessive yearning
Compulsive burning
Still never learning
Insane random thoughts
of neat disorder

I mean... they're so formulaic and uninteresting it burns.

Yeah I know but still if you hear someone singing about space travel it makes sense to consider it sci-fi themed. Proggy said to the person who said that you havn't even listened to the lyrics, despite the fact their most listened to song on lastfm talks about it.

Again you can't say they fail. John Petrucci easily has to be ONE of the greatest guitarists ever. Mike Portnoy is a good drummer, though not really near the best. John Myung is a crazy bass player.

You are just using doublethink to shove off every possibility that they are good.
