But da Ramones are good cuz they music has passion in it.

Once Plant can sing something as beautifully as Joey sings Baby I Love You I'll give him credit, until then he can suck it.

Oh and just about everyone that responded to that video agrees with me. How about that?

I'm sure JimmyPageZoSo56 is very unbiased.

Yeah. I'm sorry. It was wrong of me to list just that song. Theres many others I could have mentioned too.

You know. Since you said you were going to stop the Zep trolling, I was thinking of not bashing Modest Mouse anymore. Oh well, so much for that.

Right sorry back to the subject on hand. They're the same chords and I fail to see how it isn't very plausible Jimmy Page lifted them. Dazed and Confused, Communication Breakdown, Hats Off To Roy Harper, How Many More Times, etc. Zeppelin have a history of saying songs are there own when they weren't and stealing riffs and lyrics frequently. Hell, Since I've Been Loving You took it's lyrics from Never by Moby Grape. They aren't the most moral musicians are they?

Musicians use the same chord progressions all the time. So unless Spirit has a f*cking patent on that your argument is full of sh*t.

Hats Off is one of Zeppelins worst songs, and that and Black Mountain Side were the only really blatant ripoffs.

The riff in Breakdown is a homage to Eddie Cochrans Nervious Breakdown. But its by no means the same riff. How Many More Times only stole lyrics. And I don't know how many times I have to say it that Zeppelin are not known for their great lyrics anyway.

Lyrics yes. Riffs no.

So Rock N Roll is supposed to be moral now is it?

Look. I know about the damn song. Zeppelin actually asked the band if they could use that chrod progression, but Pages version of that riff came out totally different. Its not the same riff. No one listening to Taurus is gonna think "omg this is stairway to heaven, oh wait no its not".

Zeppelin played blues music. A genre so generic that the same chords were used over and over all the time.

"Zeppelin has a blues song with a chord that sounds kinda similar to a chord in another blues song, never mind that most blues songs are generic and always use the same chord progressions, 0mfg Z3pp3l1n ar3 r1p 0ffs, th3y b3 t3h sux0rz!!!!111!!!".

And me and ethan called truce on the Zeppelin thing, so just stfu and gtfo Bungalowbill.

Thats all you got? Almost?

Many blues artists use the exact same chord progressions and all you got is almost? Does it even matter that the two don't actually sound the same at all?

Quote:

It's not a matter of opinion. The chord progressions are nearly indistinguishable.
Really bad comparison.

If you showed me an entirely black Fender Stratocaster of yours, black pickguard, black everything, and I picked up my own Fender Stratocaster that was also black all over, but had one white tone knob, and I said that I felt they were completely different, would I be right? Obviously not.
REALLY bad comparison.

Unless you're delving into deep philosophy or whatever, there are some things in this world that just aren't subject to opinion

Like the fact you're an obnoxious douche who states things as being factual when they're not?

An Am-G-Dm-Am chord progression and an Am-G-D-Am chord progression are not completely different.
You just don't get it. ITS NOT DIFFERENT WHEN ITS NOT THE SAME KEY AND THE SAME NOTES.

Look up that chord progression or any other, you will find many other songs that use that progression.

Quote:

The intro of "Stairway To Heaven" and the intro to "Taurus" are not completely different.
Aside from those few chords, they are. It's hardly that similar at all, let alone similar enough to cry plagiarism.

Quote:

And for the love of God, rock and roll being rooted in a style of music that generally followed a very standard formula does not excuse plagiarism. End of.
Sure it does. Your precious punk and indie bands steal all the time.
