Every song on there Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is a strong song. Each song is different and shows the wide range of talent they have. You get a great fast song with pretender and a glamish song with Long Road to Ruin and a southern rock song with Summer ends .

Let it Die is by far one of the best songs written by a current artist………..which starts with careful acoustic probing ("In too deep and out of time/Why'd you have to go and let it die?"), then blows up into a full-metal cross-examination.

Liz or whatever if you don’t like dave Grohls lyrics I would suggest picking up In Your Honor the acoustic side is amazing above amazing…..
The Foo Fighters quit trying after One by One (and I'm by no means trying to say the albums before that were great.) Maybe it was just Grohl realizing he didn't have to try or maybe he lost his steam but that album showed the beginning of one of the most mediocre and boring rock bands to have gotten hype in the past decade.

They're not impressive, creative, or great. They're poppy and polished even when they're trying to be a 60s pop-rock group or Lynyrd Skynyrd. Every thing they've is essentially this: a standard rock album with 2 or 3 obvious singles, they've been doing the same old shit for a long time. This is what happens when a band realizes they can make money making boring music. They refuse to evolve or experiment and I didn't think anyone would even kid themselves that this bands mainstream intentions weren't obvious with every album they release. They're a radio rock band that makes songs for the radio, that's all the Foo Fighers are. Greatness? christ.

As for the lyrics, Grohl plays the Linkin Park game to much. He uses a bunch nondescript nouns to create some of the most boring lines ever. It strikes me as lazy and inarticulate, but intelligent lyrics go perfect with uninspired music, so power to him.

What is everyone's problem with bands wanting to make money? are they supposed to living on the streets all of their lives with their kids being bums just so they can experiment and create fabulous music for you to enjoy and download?

Theres nothing wrong with making money, but in the FF's case it's blatantly obvious they're barely trying.

Hell, Dave Grohl has got the talent but they're just dwelling around playing out the more vibrant, less serious, not-quite-as-crap-as-Nickelback card though essentially doing the same thing by releasing the same sounding song on the radio for the last 5 years.

The Foo Fighters really bug me, Dave Grohl especially. Mind you, bigger bands have gone pear shaped.

And he does have talent even if you were never much a fan of Nirvana (like me) you just have to listen to QOTSA's Songs For The Deaf to see the kind of thing he is capable of.
Yet despite all that

He STILL insists on writing the most radio friendly boring middle of the road music for people who have no interest in music and just buy whatever they hear on TV or Radio.

Dave , mate , I want to like you but f*ck me you make it difficult.

Making music to earn money is a crime against humanity. Money should, in no way, decide how your music should be. I mean I am all for good artists getting paid for their work, but when they throw originality out the window then that is when I have a problem.

They can make money out of their music. The objection is to making music for the SAKE of making money. Which is just what these twerps are doings.
