I love Nirvana, it's kind of hard to like them because you'll have to deal with music douche bags who thinks people who weren't old during the time aren't real fans and only like Teen Spirit. It's bull**** to deal with but fact is if I could of discovered Nirvana earlier I would of, but now I have and they've touched me more then any other band. I voted Heart Shaped Box, hard decision though.

If 14 year old kids really like the music then dont freakin bag on them. I loved Nirvana when i was 14 and still do! but if theyre just wearin nirvana tee-shirts to be cool, then you can bag on them.

The bands who influence rock music could've done without, we have them to partly thank for all the Nickelbacks and post-grunge crap of the world. Nirvana weren't even the first grunge band, they weren't even the first to do it well. Their was nothing special about their sound. They were all average musicians and Kurt Cobain was not a good lyricist or singer.

Okay, first of all Nirvana never claimed to be the first grunge band. I don't know many people who do. Second, Nirvana brought grunge into mainstreem, a significant blow to the Bubble Gum pop, Hair Metal, Arena Rock and dance pop that dominated back then. Although pop music has (in the end) won the war, Nirvana (helped) get us out of the crazy sounds of the 80's.

Thirdly, not many of the fans of the original grunge sound like Nickelback or post-grunge of any kind (I know I sure don't!).

Last, Cobain had a unique voice all his own. Compared to many artist of today, he was extremely unique. His lyrics are often cryptic, so boneheads can't understand them (Something he himself admitted in the song "In Bloom").

So don't you go downing my favorite band like that!
