I've got the box set, Black Sabbath - The Ozzy Osbourne years.

No ronnie the dwarf crap.

Both RJD era Sabbath albums were better than 'Technical Ecstasy' and 'Never Say Die'.

Ronnie is a ginger wannabe of Ozzy.

They are both completely different and RJD brought a sense of direction to the band after the lacklustre two albums from the Ozzy era. Have you fully heard a RJD Sabbath album?

One minute 30 in. Classic Sabbath:

I've tried to, it all sounds like rubbish. Ozzy MADE Sabbath. He's done better without them than he did with them.

And no offence to Tommy Iommi, but Zakk and Randy are better guitarists.

Even though this thread is digressing, I cannot wait to hear wayfarers comments on this.

So you rate solo's above all? Don't you realise that Iommi basically IS Sabbath? His unique style laid a huge template for many riff-centric bands, Nirvana included.

They've never written anything anywhere near as iconic

Without Tommy Iommi, we wouldn't have about 99% of music today, but when ozzy teamed with randy rhodes and later Zakk Wylde, he got better.

Sabbath created something huge, but it doesn't mean that it was the best.

Our debt to Tommy is huge, but he isn't the best.

We have no debt to RJD, and he's the worst.

Really? Because last I checked, people cite and can recite albums by Ozzy off the top of their heads, they have to really think about the Sabbath stuff.

I am by no means saying Sabbath is crap, it's amazing. But when Dio joined, it went downhill. You can't replace or better Ozzy.

Ozzy's stuff since he left has also been amazing, and his music got bigger when he went solo with Randy, and even bigger with Zakk.

Loads of people could sing along to S club 7 if they wanted , does that make them iconic?

And how is his music better now? By having a flashy guitarist?

If anyone would rather listen to No Rest For The Wicked over Paranoid or Volume 4 i'd seriously question their judgement after i'd stopped laughing.
