I don't listen to them very often and they still bore the hell out of me. And yes, "Lithium" is a boring song; there is not a whole lot about it that can hold my interest.

No one makes any concrete comparisons between the two, but Cobain is often credited as "the voice of a generation", and many people today put Cobain on a pedestal just as people their age once put Dylan on a pedestal.

I don't doubt that for a second.

All this talk about hitching a ride on a bandwagon when it's been de-railed and is sitting in a trench by the side of the road for about the last 12 years, never to be restarted makes me laugh

Its true though, every so often there will be a sudden hype about nirvana and youll see pretty much every 13 year old wearing a nirvana hoody. Its happening right now where I live, and its just not fun.

Well I think the fact there`s not been a huge mainstream music movement in the U.S. since grunge 14 years ago doesn`t help.

I would say Emo , but most emo kids seem to spend most of their time slagging off any band that sells more than 5 copies of an album as 'not emo'

i find it hard to deprive a song the praise it deserves based upon its commercial exposure

I don`t , It`s hard to like something when you`ve heard it about 100 times a week

I call it the U2 effect
