Protest The Hero
MySpace.com - Protest The Hero- FORTRESS OUT NOW! - Whitby, CA - Metal / Punk / Thrash - www.myspace.com/protestthehero
Check it out, very solid band. |
Eh, they're all right I suppose.
I'll probably have a better idea after I see them on the Dragonforce tour. |
The vocals are unbearable.
The vocalist sounds like he just came out of an opra singing practice and forgot how metal/post hardcore is suppose to sound. The rest is good.
I really don't like the vocalist. The music is semi-decent. they're trying to be too many things at once and it isn't working.
man those vocals own...by far the best part of the band IMO...I kind of liked it
It seems every day you find a "solid" band.
I'm sorry?
Opra vocals!
Man...I seem to be the only one that actully loves the vocals of this guy...i hardly like the band but the vocals are brilliant
Yes, you are the weakest link. Good bye.
Look his vocals are just band for the genre they're playin, is all. If he was in a choir or someting, he'd be terrific :D |
I agree with LesPaul43. I really do like the vocals. Reminds me a bit of System of a Down. Guitar is really good too. And it looks like their coming to detroit next week. I might have to see if I could get a ticket!
~court~ |
It reminds me a lot of Blind Guardian as well. But he is a little more whiny that Hansa from guardian.

Protest the Hero
Just started listening to their stuff a lot recently. They are from Canada, and fairly young if i remember (right around 18) but the music is good.
I've got it if anyone is interested in checking it out. |
They're good.
I love love love this band. Awesome.
they are sweet as, some songs are bit not so good though.
english me good. |
They are amazing! I just recently started listening to them and I love them. Their guitarist just rips that fretboard up.
never heard of them before, but started downloading a few of their tracks and they sound pretty good, havnt really got into them much yet cus i've only heard abit of them, but what i've heard i like.
I heard them a while back, just their purevolume page but the songs on there are great, really good band.
great band , brilliant vocals, i talk to the singer quite frequently and he seems a tidy guy , they arent actually 18. I Think they are all 20 - 21 years old
They're decent enough. Some people have said that their music is original even though it's not, but they are good.
Bungalow and I saw them at warped tour and they put on a great show, very energetic for what the lacking crowd gave. Great music, I have started a great liking for these guys.
i love protest the hero they got really good music and screammo:band:
Isn't PTH a just a regular old hardcore band?

I love Protest the Hero, But I classify them as a Math-Metal band Honestly.
I just got sent Kezia by a friend of mine. This album is amazing. How i could have gone without actually hearing these guys, i have no idea. I cant wait for them to put out another album. I also havent heard the first one, but heard it wasnt close to as good as Kezia..is that correct?
Kezia is way better than the first.

I am not a fan. The vocals do not fit well imo.
plus the music is just...meh... |
The music is just "meh"
Dude, they wrote the music before they were even capable of playing it. Its intense haha |
Protest The Hero
Band, never heard of them except that SUPPOSEDLY their new album is fantastically good. I have no basis on which to judge. Who can tell me something/anything about them?
Anything worth checking out? |
I typically hate anything remotely metalcore but they do it some justice. Also, the vocals are awesome.
Does this hate for metalcore include late 80s and early 90s acts such as Undertow and Threadbare?

Anybody heard the new album?
I did and was forced to listen to it by a huge fan. I didn't care for it.
PTH is just a little to "over the top" for me, and its really not as artsy or introspective as I'd prefer either.
@ Unfan early metalcore and post metal are the only genres that I'm actively a fan of that involves metal. I think you might get a chuckle out of this http://www.musicbanter.com/hardcore-...core-lyfe.html
@ RJ Supposedly you can listen to it on myspace. It exploded for me and told me to login when I already was. |
