I don't like Portnoy's work in Dream Theater really - it seems like he has a "I never met a fill I didn't like" style as someone on progarchives described it.

As a bassist, I think Myung is brilliant though. He exercises far more restraint than anyone in the band.
Bad vocals tend to turn me off and distract me from the rest of the music. That's why I prefer Labrie's clear voice as opposed to the screaming metal bands that just annoy me. If Labrie's diction were better I would appreciate him more, but I realize pronunciation in that range may be be restricted.
