Modern but a thread that is years old? classic definition of an oxymoron.
Judging by the bands posted though it still is years old. |
I'm mostly into instrumental music, but definitely got open ears. I'm really touchy about vocalists, because often times they are ruining a great sound the others got going. :shycouch: |

children of bodom's first album came out in 1997, so they haven't really been around that long. i mean, i assume you have heard blooddrunk. that album sounds kinda modern. i mean, i guess you really couldn't class megadeth as modern, but i guess that depends entirely on your definition of "modern". that said, this is only my opinion. |
change In Flames to Mastodon, I apparently forgot about them -.-"

Not exactly sure what modern is supposed to mean or if metal in this context encompasses hardcore etc, but here goes in no particular order:
Slipknot (nu-metal) Attack Attack (hardcore I know but amazing nonetheless) Periphery (sorta prog metal/sorta hardcore) Limp Bizkit (rap-metal but they count right?) Dope (nu-metal) I'm not too into the straight up metal genre because all the singers bug me and death metal growlers sound like retards. |

To me, Modern Metal is a band whose first LP is released in the year 2000.
Anyways here is my list, in no particular order: 3 Inches Of Blood Mastodon Lamb Of God* Killswitch Engage The Black Dahlia Murder *Burn The Priest does not count If I could list a 6th band I would say Dethklok. |

Megadeth are not modern but they keep metal respectable. |
