Metallica or Megadeth (lyrics, rock, albums, fan, show)

i think old metallica is better than megadeth; but just take ur time to think about it: if metallica didn't exist megadeth wouldn't exist either.

but i think megadeth is awesome too

Nah, I think Metallica would only exist with Mustaine's help, but Mustaine still would have made Megadeth with or without his Metallica experience. He really didn't take anything away from his time with Metallica, but he wrote at least half the songs off Kill 'Em All.

Maybe I'm missing the comparison here.

you have to be a Fan of Megadeth to know a few of their songs, where as with Metallica, you'd have to be deaf to not know a few.

I guess as a dj i'm thinking "better" means more popular.

I think both are metal bands, granted, however
megadeth dips into Speed Metal while Metallica leans on Hard Rock.

my vote: If I had to loose one of the two, Metallica would still be in my playlist.

I always thought albums in Marty Friedman era were better than Peace Sells except Cryptic Writing and Risk since I really don't know the songs in there.

First of all, I'll say I think both bands are great, but faced with a choice between the two, I have to go with Megadeth. They both have history of ****ing up more or less, but somehow I sympathize a bit more with Dave Mustaine .. I also quite like some of his lyrics.

Besides, I think United Abominations (Megadeth's latest) was a very good album. Looking forward to the next one!

Yeah, I agree with toretorden.

I'd have to go with Megadeth, because they stayed true longer than Metallica. Both bands are awesome though.

I'm not sure what to think about Mustaine personally. I've heard people say he's a real gentlemen, while others say he's kind of a douche. I've never met him, so I'm not sure.
