But he wasn't doing it, he was merely asking for the opinions of people on which country has produced the finer bands, which I thought was pretty harmless really.

And I wasn't accusing him of it, I merely stated that judging a band in such a manner is rediculous.

"Whic country has produced the most number of talented bands?" would have been a better way to ask, don't you agree?

british rock seems to offer some newer ideas which usally pick up in the US.... but then again i live in america and so maybe british rock is equally influenced by american style

any torries here that can verify?

well with american rock i think it always sounds the same but british rock is always changing and redeveloping itself to get new sounds

I really don't have a preference but American bands do it a bit more for me, but that is my opnion. though I am british and i'll be very patriotic and say that is my fav. but wot about all the other bands from other countries? surely those two r not the only places that make good rockin music?!

By number of influential bands than the brits have us beat.

But my favorite is American. Gave birth to the hardcore scene

Gd point, but to me British and American Rock is the vast Majority of Rock i kno, bar the vines, jet, Rammstein Sum41 and HIM i dont no much world rock.
all the scandinavian Heavy metal yup but i dont listen to that so i wouldnt kno.

what could i say that hasn`t already been mentioned ...there`s no shadow of a doubt..when you think about great Rock Bands the first three or four Bands that`ll come to your mind are Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath..Rolling Stones..and so on..
these 4 bands are household names of rock music..and they are british..get my drift??
