To hard, or not to hard..... that's the question.
Back to the OP, Into the Void was the first Sabbath song I ever learned. |
Do you guys even Sabbath? Didn't think so.
|
MoR is the best Sabbath

If it had maybe ditched 'After Forever' and added at least one more big track it would defo be a contender. |

Blank channeling Roxy up in this bitch.

I'm sure everyone here hates Born Again just like anywhere else but I don't even care cuz that album is tight
It sounds a lot not like a Black Sabbath album, I'll give it that. If that's where the hate stems from then like, I dunno, whatever. It's pretty solid hard metal with some out of control standout moments and some more whack-ish generic hard metal moments. But "Disturbing the Priest" and "Zero the Hero" are some great moments of dark Sabbathian metal and Ian Gillan rules wherever he is. tbh it's the only non Ozzy non Dio Sabbath album I've heard. I kinda don't wanna check out any others. |

Yeah, listening to it again it definitely doesn't sound bad at all. Like they backpedaled after Born Again and tried recreating the Dio-era sound, but with a bit of a... Whitesnake vibe I guess. The singer definitely sounds about halfway between RJD and David Coverdale from Whitesnake. It's a more dated sound, that is more keyboard and less guitar-centric, but still solid. Don't remember how good the rest of the album is though. |
Oh ****. That's also a pretty sweet song, with some better riffing too. Still not their best work but I'm gonna have to rediscover this album now.

I've got the original BS 1 thru Mob Rules albums, but they're at my brothers place. I'd love to hear those mono recordings.

if JOhn didnt die what would of led zeppelin have become ..???? in the 80s and 90s ..???
like would they start to sound like genesis or pink Floyd ..???? :P |
They probably would've stayed on the trajectory of trying out new things. I bet they would've made some very dated synth-based music in the 80s along the way but I think they'd also incorporate some more brooding post punk ideas.
Ideally though I'd like to have seen JPJ and Bonham start a new group taking a totally new direction or just falling back on the ultra dank blues rock though. |

Hate to say it, but Bonham dying helped to avoid the destruction of the Zeppelin mystique. It was bad enough seeing Page and Plant trying to navigate MTV post Zeppelin. |
Bro they'd have totally made 5150 before Van Halen did.

Four of the seven tracks don't even list Page in the writing credits. That's Twilight Zone **** for a Zeppelin album. Someone was going to die during the 1980 world tour if it had ever happened. https://www.julienslive.com/images/l...8/100850_0.jpg |
Early 1980 during the small European warm-up tour.
He's over 6 feet and I'd guess, what - 120 pounds? https://www.billboard.com/files/styl...lboard-650.jpg There's a few pics of him shortly after Bonzo croaked and he looks like Walking Dead. |
