Default Good Dark Folk albums

Does anyone know of any good Dark Folk albums? I ask for albums because when I look at some of the bands, they have large discographies so I would ask that album names be posted.

It is not so much dark Folk but have you heard Green Carnation's Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness? Just one hour long track but it has some great Ambient sections as well as plenty of heavy sections.

In the Woods - Heart of the Ages
Falkenbach - Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri
Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness, To the Nameless Dead
Skyclad - Prince of the Poverty Line, Wayward Sons of Mother Earth
Týr - Eric the Red(Not as dark as the rest, but definitely worth a mention!)

The first three have some black metal influences, but in no way are the usual type of black metal. Well produced and very melodic. The harsh vocals aren't all the dominant either. There are a lot of clean parts as well.

That is a truly great song/album but yeah it isn't dark folk.

I'd suggest:

Nest - Trail Of The Unwary
Agalloch - The Mantle
Uaral - Lamentos A Poema Muerto
Tenhi - Maaäet
October Falls - Marrat

And anything/everything by Empyrium and Of The Wand And The Moon.

This is an area that I do not know anything about. I have been told that Ulver are very good. Are they Dark Folk?

Gday mate

Ulver have done some dark folk'ish black metal. But Ulver have done pretty much everything. The Mantle was basically Agalloch doing Ulver worship. The last few years they have even done ambient/electronica.

Angels of Light - How I Loved You. That album is stunningly beautiful.

My True Body is fantastic. I like how the intro builds and you don't quite know what's coming then BAM a simple beautiful guitar chord envelopes you. A highly recommended album.
