I think these people don't really realize what started all this, blues,
and zeppelin contributed to that. And most of the stupid bands today say they were inspired by zeppelin, the who, and all that other stuff. But how come they never sound good? People need to listen to the roots of what started all of this. People need to realize rock is more than music.

True Rock (classic rock) also tells good things of life. Not like the stupid music today. It tells about how were all screwed up and that life sucks, no it doesn't. People need to see the good things in life, not the bad things. People are so stupid to listen to korn, slayer, marilyn manson, and all that other crap that makes you want to commit suicide. Listen to me because my friend listened to this crap and he took his life last month. And it can tell a ballad, i am just saying i don't want to hear, "life sucks kill all".

If you guys know what i mean. Zeppelin Rocks!!

I'm not sure which way to really go here... it's true that some if not most bands nowadays aren't as and probably won't be as good as bands from classic rock or whatnot... but it's for people to decide what they like and what they don't. I'm a fan of classic rock and that's not going to fade any time in the next 5 or ten years [I should hope], but that's not to say that it's the only type of music I enjoy. I like Alicia Keys and I like Metallica, I like Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles and Eric Clapton and I like Michelle Branch and Green Day. It depends on your taste and no one should criticise our likes and dislikes in music.

The beauty of music is not the wild dazzling solos or the same 4 boring chords that you hear in a song, but that you find a song that you thoroughly enjoy for its lyrical or musical content or you find music that you can relax to, dance to or go jumping around breaking things to. And yes, commercialism and MTV is in a sense ruining music because of both the image they create and the selectiveness of what they show, but that's business. People see what others want them to see so that they keep the fricken money rolling in.

What the people you're dissing or praising for they're monotonous interests should be doing is experiment a little. Borrow other's cds and listen to all genres of music and as many bands as possible and decide for themselves. Besides, the whole ploy of saying [using examples here] "DON'T LISTEN TO GOOD CHARLOTTE LISTEN TO NIRVANA BECAUSE GOOD CHARLOTTE SUCK AND THEY CAN'T COMPARE!!" is not exactly the approach which should be taken, because for all you know the emo that you're trying to convert is going to say otherwise. Just let people listen to what they want let them be happy, and keep in mind that you know what they might be missing out on and they don't. For God's sake, why bother complaining about what everyone else likes which you don't when you can just kick back and listen to what you like that THEY don't and not worry about what they like?

And im one of those people who doesnt like the new simplistic form of rock. So, hopefully history shall repeat itself. Music is supposed to evolve not devolve. What happened to the solos?? Where are the arpeggios???
So turn off the radio, put in your effing tapes and STFU
