Ok, I'll post a review on it when I know what to think about it. ^^ Thanks.

khfreek: So, I've listened to the album several times already, and it's just *really* not my cup of tea. It's not because he's a bad player or that it sounds bad, but because there's not enough stuff happening in the songs! I want variation *within* the songs, not several individual pieces playing the same thing for 4 minutes and then end. I'm always waiting for something interesting or unexpected to come up, but there's just another guitar solo and then the song's over. That most things feels "been there done that" doesn't help either, like 4/4 and standard chords at most sections.

(Listen to "Damage Control" by John Petrcci at the 6:14 transition! Best musical moment ever! With that said, the middle section of Damage Control is the only part of his solo album I really love, and there's nothing like it on the Paul Gilbert album.)

So: Awesome technical ability, uninteresting music for me. It's all about personal preference though.

My favorite is the one that plays music instead of notes... which is... none of them.

Yesss but they don't all play music! (In my not so currently humble opinion.)

Paul Gilbert for me. Good mix of technique, speed, and feeling. Like his work with racer x.
