With that said, the middle section of Damage Control is the only part of his solo album I really love, and there's nothing like it on the Paul Gilbert album.)

So: Awesome technical ability, uninteresting music for me.

It's all about personal preference though.

Paul Gilbert for me. Good mix of technique, speed, and feeling. Like his work with racer x.

Eric Johnson, i like his style, and not just cause of Cliffs of Dover, in fact, that's my least favorite of his stuff
