Default SKY Arts (Yeah, that's right: I said Sky Arts!)

Weird, but for an arty channel they're showing some pretty good gigs and music progs over the next few days. Peter Gabriel, "Growing up", "Zappa plays Zappa", John Mayall and Eric Clapton, Hendrix plays Berkley, The Who: "The kids are alright", "The Gospel according to Al Green" and some interesting stripped-down acoustic sets called "From the basement" --- so far features Gnarls Berkley, Sparks and the KIlls.
Also, if you're into Anoushka Shankar or sitar music in general, they're running "Anoushka Shankar night" from 8pm tonight till 1:30 AM.
Channel 256 on SKY, if you have it.
Strange, how things like this turn up on channels you just wouldn't usually bother watching...

Ah yeah. From the Basement is good, usually. Jarvis Cocker and Beck were on it last week.
I'll be watching Zappa Plays Zappa

I just switched from Comcast to AT&T a few days ago and now I get that channel. I'll have to start paying attention to whats on it.

OK, more highlights, loosely speaking... coming up in the next few days: Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, Genesis, Queen, Thin Lizzy and for you old incorrigible lounge lizards, the one and only Tony Bennett!

Deffo a channel to keep a weather eye on...

I watched The Who live at the Isle of Wight 1970 the other week. What a gig, would have loved to have been there up the front somewhere
