Bono and the plan for world domination is here

this is the most ridiculous name for an album ever attempted by a major rock band. the name chosen "No Line On The Horizon", what is this excuse of a name suppose to mean anw?!?!? it's like a anti-aging facial cream slogan...this thing with their albums' names is starting to look ridiculous. "Boy","Rattle and Hum", "Zooropa", "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb", what's next? "How to change your car's oil"? to be honest I listen to them from time to time but this title is so lame it hurts my spine

I despise U2 but I really have no problem with their album names, I mean "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" is a bit cheesey but not nearly bad enough to warrant a rant.

Very funny post! Other titles for the new U2 could include "No Spare Sheets in the Closet" or mybe even a gran overture like "How to dismantle a damaged toaster".

I could have WAY too much fun with these titles...

Always wondered why they never produced a companion piece to "Boy" called "Girl". It would have worked. Perhaps the album after the Boy / Girl ensemble could have been called "Hermaphradite"...

Must... stop... ripping.... on.... U2....

Haha, they sure do come up with some stupid names.

I don't have a problem with U2 in general. I think Bono is kind of annoying; but he's done alot for humanity, so he's okay.

There is no line on the horizon if you think about it, maaaaaan....

scottsy 12-29-2008 09:59 PM

Heheh! You are indeed quite right!

"No Line on the Horizon" sounds like a good slogan for a retirement fund company... maybe the U2 boys are looking ahead to their futures...

U2 gets so much hate. Their album names are really not that bad.

scottsy 12-29-2008 10:25 PM

Hehehehe... I know, I am as much as anyone to blame for the cheap shots... if its any sort of comfort, I am very curious about how this next album will sound. And I absolutely loved and adored U2 from about The Joshua to Zooropa - then they kinda fell off for me during the "pop" era and All That You Can't leave behind seema rather gratutious 180 degree turn...

But they may have one timeless album left in 'em yet!

And as a major REM fan, i gotta be able to understand that great bands get lost in the woods sometimes *ahem* Around the Sun, anyone...?

Rage Against the Machine 12-29-2008 10:41 PM

I was hoping the album would be called Bono and the Plan for World Domination is Here. :(

And that name's not terrible, but I suppose it's better than 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb'.
