I was about 13 years old when Hybrid Theory came out. I was just turning into an angsty teenager and that album was exactly what I needed. :p:

I lost interest after that debut album because they weren't really advancing. I was quite interested when I heard about the big comeback but What I've Done was a big disappointment.

Dr_Rez 10-08-2007 08:54 AM

I like em. Not my favorite or most creative band, but there all in all good. Although there new cd (with the exception of Bleed it Out and What Iv Done) SUXS.

Blain 10-09-2007 02:10 AM

I'm seeing them in like 2 weeks. I've been waiting for about 4 years, considering they were like the first band I acctually really liked besides the Offspring.

I'm hoping they don't play much of Minutes to Midnight. I didn't even give that album a chance.

Psychstream 10-15-2007 11:53 AM

I am a big linkin park fan but I can't honestly say their music isnt repetitive. I enjoy listening to them as long as it isnt non-stop.

=ladyface= 10-15-2007 12:00 PM

Ditto. I can take Hybrid Theory a few times in a row but there's not enough variation on there to keep me interested for much longer and it's the same with their other material.

My brother only listens to Breaking the Habit and Crawling, used to be two of my favorite songs but I am just pissed off with them now.

=ladyface= 10-15-2007 12:10 PM

You should force some others upon him. :p:

I never really liked Breaking The Habit and I think that was supposed to be Chester Bennington's favourite.

MuZiKaL 10-15-2007 06:45 PM

One Step Closer > Crawling/ Breaking the Habit

Anyway their new songs are decent, Bleed it Out is one of my favorites from their newer stuff.

Blain 10-20-2007 08:52 AM

I don't care what you all say, they were incredible live.

Carm.bono 10-22-2007 09:45 AM

One of my favourite songs by LP is Numb, or Faint...i think they brought a unique style of music to the scene and are doing it well holding it together, so overall i like them quite much. I wish i had seen them in toronto at Project Revolution but i was busy :( My friend that attended said they kicked ass and they had the crowd even before they arrived on stage. I also heard their slower stuff (the ballots) were quite well done. My favourite album by them is probably Meteroa

rockstarmentality 10-27-2007 11:17 AM

Linkin park is a AMAZING band....I LOVE them and what they stand for!!!!!!

ProggyMan 10-27-2007 11:28 AM

Uh, what do they stand for? Teen angst?

Dr_Rez 10-27-2007 11:32 AM

Yea, i like them alot to. (well the old them) but only cus i like the actual music, not sure either what they stand for. Please tell me if you know...

ProggyMan 10-27-2007 12:32 PM

Yah, I like their music, as well, even if a lot of the songs sound the same, bu I have no illusions that they're trying to spread a message.

=ladyface= 10-27-2007 01:34 PM

Perhaps Linkin Park are secret political activists or something. :p: No, I agree with you two; I don't think they stand for anything, really. They're just around to make music and that's enough.

Dr_Rez 10-27-2007 02:19 PM

Yea, i dont require a band to spread an amazing message to like them (to be one of my favorites, yes) they just have to make music pleasing to the ears

Necromancer 10-27-2007 05:24 PM

Linkin Park

I think Linkin Park is a very unique band, In my personal opinion (Only). Metal, Rap(Hip-Hop), DJ.(scratch, effects), Killer lead vocalist. A 'core band' at they're style of music. Thats All....

Artemis' Punk 10-28-2007 12:31 AM

I love Linkin Park since they've managed to blend so many different genres into a single medium pretty nicely and their music is, personally, really good. BUT, I went to Projekt Revolution and they put on a show that takes their own music to another level! When I first heard Hands Held High on MtM, I hated it but Shinoda put so much of his heart into his performance that I realized it's the LIVE version that's the true song.

Besides, they continued to perform even when Chester broke his wrist on stage... How much more f*cking dedicated as musicians can they be??

sleepy jack 10-28-2007 02:17 AM

Linkin Park are pushing out the same nu-metal trash every angry white kid band who wants to be on headbangers ball has been doing since the 90s. They're not unique, they're trash.

WELL ACTUALLY THATS UR OPINION

Necromancer 10-28-2007 03:54 PM

If I knew of an 'angry white kid band' that could actually mimic Linkin Park, They might make it even further than the headbangers ball, within the music industry. (But,everyone has they're own personal opinion's) And I can respect that, like it or not.

pianolp325 10-28-2007 08:46 PM

linkin park is m favorite band. i think they are one of the best bands in the world(they are internationally renowned and get more love outside the US). they know how to do hip hop, they know how to do rock. metal, punk, and electronica and its not B.S it sounds real.

Linkin Park is an angry white kid band.

Dr_Rez 10-28-2007 10:11 PM

And thats not such a terrible thing for them. Read some of there lyrics, there really not all that terrible. And they do a good job of rap-rock.

sleepy jack 10-28-2007 10:30 PM

Please give me an example of good Linkin Park lyrics.

Ok, theres a ton of them. Heres one of my favorite songs by them.

Carousel - Linkin Park

And the only reason you could say "wow those r ****ty, typical angsty white kid garbage" is if you didnt take the time to understand what its about, and are judging it just cus you dont like LP.

djchameleon 10-28-2007 11:02 PM

Don't even bother, Rez. You'll never find linkin' park lyrics that are good enough to live up to his standards because he's biased against them

CONFUUUSING WHAT IS REAAAYAL"

"Watch as the room rocks
Mentally moonwalk
Mixed media slang
Banging in your boom box verbal violence
Lyrical stylist
In a time when rock hip hop rhymes are childish
You can’t tempt me with rhymes that are empty
Rapping to a beat doesn’t make you an emcee
With your lack of skill and facility
You’re killing me
And a DJ in the group just for credibility
I heard that some of you are getting help with your rhymes
You’re not an emcee if someone else writes your lines
And rapping over rock doesn’t make you a pioneer
Cause rock and hip hop have collaborated for years
But now they’re getting randomly mixed and matched up
All after a fast buck and all the tracks suck
So how does it stack up? None of it’s real
You want to be an emcee you’ve got to study the skill"

i <3 linkin park

How? Those lyrics weren't good, they're cliche, unoriginal and bland.
