Default Need Help (Playlist)

Hello knowledgable members of musicbanter
I'm trying to impress a certain someone with a playlist of songs from hardcore/heavy metal/thrash/speed metal bands she hasn't heard before.

I'm looking for things that sound fantastic, remaining faithful to the genre but at the same time stepping out of it.

Bands like Fucked Up, Mastodon, Refused, Nightwish - she also likes Children of Bodom (of-course).

I already have In Flames, Slayer and Harvey Milk.

What do you guys suggest?

How about Pig Destroyer or, from the hardcore camp, His Hero Is Gone?

Pig Destroyer certainly fits the bill here.

There are a lot of 80s heavy/thrash metal I could recommend but those aren't exactly what you are after I suppose. Try Gojira, Meshuggah or Voivod. All of em have a thrashier sound but a bit more to it than strait up thrash. Exhorder's "Slaughter in the Vatican" should do the trick when it comes to faster stuff. And if you'd like a bit more on the industrial side, Godflesh's "Streetcleaner" as well as Fear Factory's "Demanufacture" sound quite heavy at times. I don't really like Children of Bodom, but try wintersun, who definitely share similarities but are a lot better. (i don't really like both though)

Finding these shouldn't be a problem, but if it is, then I'll just send some tracks over.

A band that's quite similar to Children of Bodom is Norther, really like them though I'm not a large CoB fan.

I love you guys, haha.

Demonoid, I'll try those tracks.

What songs from the bands I'm getting recommended would you guys recommend (early afternoon, limited vocabulary)?
