Looks to me like Avenged Sevenfold are trying to upstage Metallica completely on their new album Hail To The King, particularly on this song.

The only thing I want to post here is that I love the quote from James Hetfield talking about the writing of ...And Justice For All and I'm paraphrasing, but it's basically this, "We've jammed six guitar riffs into one song? Let's make it EIGHT."

This quote is how I feel not only thrash metal should be, but essentially the entirety of rock and heavy music in general.
