wouldnt Bauhaus and Joy Divison count as goth-rock bands? I'm pretty sure they r and they're really damn good!

Goth is very much open to interpertation. I like alot of the bands mentioned ex. cure, bauhaus, rasputina. Marilyn Manson is just horrible because he butched Depeche Mode and he puts too much emphasis on his look and not on the music. I just like goth music 'cause they do more then just scream but at the same time they don't sound like complete pussies.

i wouldnt say joy division were goth, based around the whole stereotypical goth image of long, black hair, black clothes, eye liner etc, i dont think division can be associated with any of those those traits!? if we're talking about sound, yea they do have a slight darkness to their songs and the lyrics talk about dark issues but doesnt every rock band? basically, asfter this essay, ive concluded that i have no f!ckin idea!
