You could check out their back catalogue as all their albums are quality, but I'd say Colors is the most progressive of the bunch.

As far as similar bands go you (forgive me if you already know these bands) might want to check out Protest the Hero or The Human Abstract:

Hope that helps!

Dudes into Between the Buried and Me may also want to check out albums like

Trap Them - Seizures in Barren Praise, Rise and Fall - Our Circle is Vicious and Trash Talk - Eyes and Nines. All the balls out aggression and pissed off vibe of BTBAM but without the self-indulgence.

I'm a big fan of Trap Them but I don't really see how their sound even remotely resembles that of BTBAM. BTBAM is all about long, progressive song structures whereas Trap Them is a gritty, crusty, grindcore band whose songs rarely reach over the 1:30 mark.

Looking for some pompous, in-your-face, beat-the-f***-out-of-you kind of metal...

Not looking for anything particularly technical or even necessarily good

Something in the deathcore category would be nice (I know the quality pickings are pretty slim)

Try this. Dunno if you've heard Revenge before, but they've started including some elements that are... well, they're breakdowns. More like Suffocation or Baphomet than Job for a Cowboy, but still.... and this is certainly aggressive.

Revenge - Parasite Gallows (In Line)

Well, if you've never listened to Baroness, you should give them a listen.

Nice! I actually liked the breakdowns in this song.
Thanks!
