Stone Titan sound about right, Buzzoven are pretty sweet, I forgot about Harvey Milk (just downloaded their first two albums), Rwake sound kind of awesome, and the rest are more sludgey than sludge but might be alright when I'm in a more hardcore/post-hardcore mood. BTW please tell me you already know about Cursed. Hardcore band who are so sludge that they double as both.

Looking for some recs for sludge metal that has nothing to do with post-metal. **** like Eyehategod, Acid Bath, Iron Monkey, Buzzoven, or anything along New Orleans sludge lines. Raw and abrasive is a plus.

Lumbar?

Oh forgot about Big Business too.

Another Elvenking fan. Awesome. There are now two on this site, although I only really care about the debut. But to answer your question I need to know how much you know about power metal, cause if you're into Elvenking then I assume you already know about Blind Guardian and Helloween.

But here are a few anyway.

I would assume, but those are two pretty random bands to mention. Might be just some guy who stumbled upon power metal without knowing anything about it. And it's nice to know that Blind Guardian are a household name in Germany cause they sure as hell ain't in America.

I might be just surrounded by way too many metal fans and they aren't actually a household name at all.
