Nothing of the sort! They are one of the heaviest metal acts around. An important element of the groove metal scene, despite dabbling with NU-metal on a couple of albums.

A lot of people on this forum don`t seem to like them, but I think they are a great metal band. The vocals of Rob Flynn were made for metal.

I've been interested for awhile to give Megadeth a proper listen as I never have paid much attention to them.

Any recommendations on where I should start?

Rust in Peace is objectively their best, but I like the more "pop" Countdown to Extinction.

To this day, man, I think Megadeth has the sickest leads in all of metaldom.

Poland, Friedman, the current one (and also the in-betweeners)?

im looking for more metal like:

Parkway drive
feed her to the sharks
august burns red
as i lay dying
i killed the prom queen
corpus Christi
north lane
Texas in july
some white chapel

im not really looking for anything much heavier than T.I.J. i like really technical double bass and i hate pig squeals. (hopefully this is the right thread to ask this in, if not kick me out pls)

edit: and i know most of the more mainstream metal bands so i guess im looking for bands that are somewhat new/unknown.
