Yeah, albums sound better. Youtube quality leaves little to be desired.

Morbid Saint is a great band.

Other thrash and death metal I like:

the last song by Miasma is my favorite of these, Death Metal out of Austria of all places. Death Metal is more my style of choice when it comes to metal. Thrash I am not as knowledged in.

So many Death Metal bands I would post for ya, but I am not sure if you would like the vocals on some of my favorites.

ohhhh.. should throw this in as well.... another band you may know... but if not. Check them out. One of my favorite Death Metal bands.

They have never disappointed me. "Considered Dead" and "The Erosion of Sanity" are both essential... as is "Obscura", though that album is a bit more experimental and avant garde, not solid Death Metal... it is like the "Trout Mask Replica" of Death Metal... amazing album if you can get into it, took me a few listens, but once I got into it it became one of my favorite albums off all-time.

Deicide are a great band. The first three albums are classic, the second (Legion) being my personal favorite and their most complex. Get a proper recording of it; the rhythm section is brilliant on this album.

Blasphemy! Early (late 80s) Canadian Black Metal. Brilliant ****; while Scandinavia went melodic, they went brutal.

Incantation. This band has had many, many notable members; Daniel from the Chasm, Rahmer from Mortician, Ledney from Havohej & Profantica, etc. Some people prefer their first album, "Onward to Golgotha", but I think "Diabolical Conquest" has great riffs, melancholy harmonies, and a powerful rhythm section.

Watchmaker no longer exist, which is a shame, because they produced albums that were rare for their subgenre, in that they lacked filler. I realize they're pretty extreme, but you said you wanted fast, so....

Siege were around for a long time, but recordings of theirs are hard to come by. Sort of hardcore meets grindcore; Slayer gone punk, Metallica after snorting whiskey. Fast would explain their music quite well.

Legion is still Deicide's best album. "Once Upon the Cross" feels more comical to me, like a parody of themselves on the first 2, "When Satan Rules His World" is so by the numbers it is hilarious.. but the riff is cool... "Once Upon the Cross" was the first Death Metal album I listened to. Still holds memories for me.

Self-Titled, Legion and The Stench of Redemption are my top 3 personally. "When Satan Lives" is one of my favorite live albums as well.

I find Glen Benton to be like a cartoon character. I never can take him seriously. Especially on the post-Legion stuff.

Also, "Diabolical Conquest" is my favorite Incantation album as well.

Can't thank you guys enough. I have some music exploration to attend to, some of these bands I fucking loved (Gorguts, Morbid Saint, Demolition Hammer, Incantation the best out of the bunch.. imo) but some others I can't get myself to like the growls. I'm not one to to say, "I hate that screaming crap" but I do appreciate fine growls, and while Watchmaker is fucking extreme, I just can't find myself listening to that.

I'll be back to ask for some recommendations.

Many years ago I listened to the material Deicide put out after "Once Upon the Cross", and, well, it left a strong enough impression I can say honestly I've no desire to check out what Benton is currently up to, particularly since the Hoffman brothers left. That being stated, "Dechristianize" had some brilliant moments on it, but there doesn't seem to be any.... songs.

But, yeah, Benton is an idiot. He used to prattle about how he'd commit suicide at age 33(?) to prove he was the antithesis to Jesus. Of course, though, Euro liberals think he's "serious business", and actually have called multiple bomb threats against Deicide shows because, during an interview at his Florida home, he got out a 22 and shot some squirrels. Just when you think an attention whore vocalist of a Florida D.M. band is King Retard, too....

"Serpents of the Light" had some decent stuff on it.... the rest up until "The Stench of Redemption" though got retty bad, especially "In Torment, In Hell"... that album is just awful.

"Dechristianize" is a good album, though I prefer the early Vital Remains stuff more. But "Dechristianize" was some of Glen's best vocals since the heyday of Deicide.

The Hoffman brothers are releasing an album this year, under the name Amon, which of course was what Deicide was known as before the self-titled album. Kinda sad they have to use the name of their former band to let people know it is them, but oh well.. I look forward to seeing what they can offer.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some metal that makes me want to punch someone in the face. Something akin to the chunky riffs of Black Sabbath's "Children of the Grave", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and "Fairy's Wear Boots". But I also want it to make me want to punch someone, kind of like The Stooges "Search and Destroy" or Pantera's "Rise."

Oh and no death metal, and preferably I can get it on CD for cheap. (meaning no super obscure metal that would cost me $15 for one cd)
