That's pretty much where I'm at with black metal. I see black metal as sort of a starting point from which to build. I've been on an avant-garde/experimental/post-black metal kick for the past month or so, and I don't see myself getting bored yet.

And I ****ing love Blut Aus Nord. The Work Which Transforms God is one of the greatest things I think I've ever heard.

Thanks! This wasn't exactly what meant by heavy electro/synthesizer, but Dimmu is great nonetheless. I had already heard some of their old stuff, but I had not heard "Death Cult Armageddon" before. Wow! What a great album! Thanks! I didn't think that their 2010 release was half-bad either. I love the orchestral sound and how the band retains a sort of catchiness without abandoning the black metal sound.

But yeah I'm lookin for something that is more heavy on the electronics side. Maybe something like a KMFDM (but actually good) or a heavier version of Orgy? It will likely be industrial metal, as I don't think there is such a thing as synth metal, or is there? (like synth rock)

If you're getting into post-black metal you really need to check out the band Solefald. Their music can be pretty esoteric and polarizing, but if you're into Blut Aus Nord then I'm 95% sure you'll like them. I'd recommend starting off with their 2003 magnum opus In Harmonia Universali. It's like black metal meets free jazz sung in English, French, Norwegian, and German, with a heavy mix of organ and piano interludes. It's also one of the darkest albums I have, which seeing as how you like Blut Aus Nord, you'll appreciate.

Let me know if you need help procuring a copy.

I'm looking for black metal in the vein of: Havohej, Ildjarn, Bone Awl, etc.

Or black metal & grindcore hybrid would be great. Although I've never actually heard one of those.

I've heard the name, I just haven't gotten around to them yet. I do love the darkness of BAN, so I'll have to give them a listen.

Have you not heard of Anaal Nathrakh? They sound just up your alley. Black metal with a grindcore intensity from England.
