But I think so.
All these other dudes are just flashy IMO.

Anyone who picked Sinister Gates[<--He doesn't deserve to have his name spelled incorrectly] I feel bad for.

I assume you play them with ease?

If all he does is tap a lot, then yes. He probably could.
But yeah..Avenged Sevefold is a load of crap IMO.
And plus, I'm not really one's for solos.
Breakdowns and technicality is good for me.
I lose interest fast with solos.

A lot of people would probably go--->"But how?! Breakdowns are soooo generic and they suck too, and they are all recylced."
I'f you're not going to take the time out to find the differences, then shut up.

ZaborgZaloog 05-20-2009 06:42 AM

I find it the opposite. Breakdowns completely ruin songs for me. They usually are so boring and sound like garbage. Solos can get overdone, but I've never heard a song ruined by overdone solo(s).

Wow that's one monster generalization you just made there. I mean I don't consider myself an A7X fan but to deny the solos any degree of skill/difficulty is foolish babble. I dig solos and breakdowns, they can both enhance a song if done properly. I don't think its fair to say one sucks and one doesn't.

Yet another fine example of a complete generalization. while I agree that some breakdowns do indeed sound like garbage and are boring, i dont think you can say that for every breakdown ever written.

xTevinx 05-20-2009 05:49 PM

Well, I just find that A7X songs are just made to look/sound flashy.
Sure, maybe they have one maybe two good ones, but I think I generalized correctly. If you can even do that. lol
And it's not babble if it's an opinoin. It's only my opinoin, and my preferance. I don't like solos very much. Maybe I'm too much of a 'sc3n3 kid', or a 'br00tal d00d'. Who knows.

One of my favorite bands is in my sig, so of course I don't hate all breakdowns.

i know, i made a mistake when i made the poll. Padge is pretty damn good though, especially at solos.

The All That Remains guitarist is sick...

Jester 08-21-2009 10:34 PM

Christopher Arp is pretty ill.

Our Puzzling Encounters Considered, and then pick whichever album to go with next. They only have two other ones.

I suppose it wasn't a fair comparison, as I haven't even taken calculus yet. lol: Not until next year. I never have trouble with math, anyway. But I do forget it easily when I don't practice it.

The atmosphere is really, uh, mathematical is all I can think of with it. A whole bunch of numbers that are related and complex, batting around the inside of your head in some sonic format. Gnomesain?

I wouldn't really know, because most metalcore sounds the same to me.

Mathcore totally breaks this thread in half. However, if we're going that route I think Alexis Pareja is far more versatile. He can be buzzy and mathematical one instant and simply melodic the next.

knj27 09-01-2009 04:49 PM

As far as the original guys in the poll go, I don't know about who's most talented but I think I like All That Remains' sound the best.

Moog Bass 05-02-2013 06:04 AM

Is metalcore another word for sh*te

zman419 06-17-2013 05:52 AM

IMO Thomas Erak from the Fall of Troy
