Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" turned me onto them. I'd take Chester Bennington over Fred Durst any day of the week.

Yeah I was big into nu metal. Which I probably should be embarrassed about, but I'm not.

On one hand I still think Papa Roachs Infest album is incredible, but Jesus, I don't know why I ever listened to Limp Bizkit

Islander are not a nu-metal band. Get your genre's right.

What they play is an alternative type of music, it's Rock, it's got some funk vibe to it if you pay attention to all that's going on, and it has an influence from Metal, there's even some Rap influence there. A band isn't nu-metal just because something you hear reminds you of that period of music. You could call a lot of your modern Rock bands nu-metal if that was the case because they all have their moments.
