15 years ago who would of thought he would become a politician and look like that?

that does look about right. he was always a little thin up top and a little thicker in the middle than the other guys in the band. or did you really expect someone in their mid-40s to keep looking like they did when they were in their late 20s? do you still dress and act the same as when you were 12?

the political angle isn't really surprising either, more and more musicians became politically active in the 80s and 90s when the governments of the day started trying to impose stricter controls on the content of music being released to the public.

Like Polka or Calypso or something.

He always said he wanted to just sit in a rocking chair and play Leadbelly covers when he got old.. that would have been kinda cool. :D

I personally cant stand the band either. This is my first post here at MusicBanter and I found this thread the most interesting of the new posts.

Nirvana to me were just a bunch of whiny, little depressive, cry-baby's making an attempt to stick out from the other bands in their circa by b*tching about life. I couldn't stand to hear Cobain's whiny voice time and time again about how he couldn't figure out his own unproductive life.

I also look down upon any music that doesn't cheer you up. Nirvana wasn't grunge.... They were EMO!

Well done on dismissing pretty much most of music in popular culture.

Yeah, Cobain totally ruined fun music.

Like Warrant and Autograph. F*cking *******.

I never said I thought he would look the same exact way, after watching a lot of interveiws and from Nirvana he didn't seem to me like a politician thats all I'm saying.
No need to dissect everything I say and go out of your way to make yourself look more knowledgeable than I am, like you have been throughout this thread.

Nirvana appeared to a lot of people as just whiny cry babies, I don't blame you for thinking that.
I remember when I just casually listened to them I always thought they needed to quit bitching. Then once I got more and mor einto them and watch more interveiws and read more books I came to realize they weren't the whiny babies the mass majority of people put them out to be.

Also, looking down upon music that doesn't cheer you up is very ignorant. The world isn't perfect and their are problems, Pop-Punk music today (which I generally think of as the stuff that makes you feel happy) makes people oblivious to what's really going on.

I'm not even going to get into you callign them Emo, all of have gotten out of your post is that you have no idea what you're talking about by calling Nirvana emo and their is no use in trying to get an argument with you that will just lead to more anger from me. But please, state your opinions and think what you want.

mr. dave is just naturally knowledgable at that kinda stuff, i don't think he's really trying to "go out of his way" in here. he's like this in every thread.

It seems to me everytime I say something he comes and dismisses it immediatel like he's the god of all things music.

Just take that into consideration.

Boo boo let's take some perspective here; you only think Queen is hated on unjustly because you're having DDD flashbacks (where Queen was ridden hard occasionally). Teenagers LOVE Queen, and so do other demographics that aren't men nearing mid-life crisis mode.
