Black Metal is an okay genre to listen to but I think it's more interesting to learn about black metal musicians like Varg Vickernes. Burzum, Mayhem, and Bathory are some good black metal bands.

Why would it be more interesting to learn about the musicians than to listen to the music? That sounds like a pretty damning indictment of black metal to me!

Black Metal isn''t that good. Most of the negative stereotypes of metal music comes from black metal and genres like it(people assuming it requires no skill and is loud heavy music with no structure and a "Singer" screaming down a mic)

I have never myself been able to derive any enjoyment from extreme metal. but what i'm questioning is why, if the music is "not that good", would it be interesting to learn about the people who MAKE the music?

The musicians worship satan, the burn churches, and they are overall just bizarre.
