I haven't been in high school for a long time but I can tell you that while metal generally wasn't cool, an Austrian metalhead with long black hair would probably do fine.

For bands - I'm not sure if someone already mentioned this but check out Xasthur - and there are plenty of others. Maybe not living or playing in Kansas, though.

yeah, i understand, just that from your post it seemed like you were looking down on them, but yeah, people like to form their own groups and judge others on alot of aesthetic features. pretty much why i hate high school.

I know that there wont be that many "metalheads" (or probably none...) in my school
I basically wanted to know if i could get problems with my "look"...
(btw. do american girls like guys with long hair? ^^)

Well, im not going to Kansas, it'll be Massachusetts (are people that different in different states?)

If you are a "Punk", "Goth" or in my case "Guy who likes Metal", do you have to stick to these certain "groups" groups you guys talked about? Isn't that srange?

Are there Metal festivals in America (like "Wacken" or "Metal Camp")?
May people in my age go there (16)?
Do people in my age drink Alcohol? (In europe you may drink with the age of 16)
Do american Metalheads like Pagan Metal like "Equilibrium"? Does anyone of you know them?

...just some more questions^^

And yes, i was talkin' about bands like Wolves in the Throne Room!! They're great, but I've known them before... (Didn't know they're from the states though)

Yes people are different state to state, and more so region to region.

Kansas is nothing like Massachusetts - at all. We have trees they have the great plains, we have mountains they have hay, we're the melting pot and they're white bapstist farmers.

Btw, there will be metalheads in your high school almost guaranteed, so long as it's a public school. Sounds like you will get along just fine, American kids always LOVE the new foreign students.
