yeah your right. i just checked him out through google. lol, his reputation must be insane:

"In a radio interview, Homme and Nick Oliveri agreed to give the LAPD permission to use the song "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" in anti-drunk driving films in return for a reduced sentence."

Yep not every artist can say something like that.

Yep I agree that there is a lot of recognition for Homme's work online, but in real life it is hard to come across anyone who recognises the name and his bands outside QoTSA, TCV will probably heighten his profile though.

Absolutely loved the album. Just full of great riffs, awesome drumming from Grohl, and the whole thing is infused with a lively playfullness that is fantastic to hear. I gotta give it some repeat listens, hopefully this week, and I can then provide some more in depth thoughts and opinions, but from an initial listening point of view, just awesome.

Yeah, I just listened to this album recently and it blew me away. I need to hear it a bit more before being sure, but I have a feeling it could rival even some of Led Zeppelin's greatest albums.

Yeah taking a look backstage at these guys and maybe even meeting them in person really blows. I would give up my left testicle for that!

I like this album, a lot. Though I knew I would. J Homme is a fantastic vocalist and has always been interesting no matter what he does. I didn't like all of the material, some seemed drawn out after what was shaping up to be brilliant (I'm looking at the Warsaw track here), but it was a fun listen none the less and I reckon it would be fantastic live.
