How much does that cost?
Should be available around 25-27th I would think. |

Decent!

Half the forum is going to be so mean spirited to the other half when this album comes out.

I still think 10,000 Days is a respectable record.
Well you'll like the new track then because it's a retread of the same ****.
I like the percussion and synths. Reminds me a bit of their Lateralus sound meets late 80's Ozrics a lil' bit. But it definitely isn't breaking any new ground.

Still overall too boring even instrumentally though. |
Jones' percussive guitar approach is pretty neat, being not quite djent but still filling those DB levels and all, but they're a bit of a one trick pony with their tension building.
I still tell this story to the youngsters: Quote:

I think it's the font more than anything that bothers me with the cover.
Maybe the art and album are supposed to be intentionally bad, you know, because that would totally subvert our expectations and then they become the best band ever. |
I was waiting for the intro to explode into a maelstrom of intensity but next thing I knew the song was over
well now that tool has risen from the dead I suppose I should listen to tool for the first time......... something i said i'd never do
where start? i think lateral bingo and 69 000 days are the popular ones? |
Bloody Hell, Dayvan! Where have you come back from?! I'm guessing Antarctica, as per your location, prison sentence, or amnesia. Welcome back!
Tool, I don't know about. I once enjoyed a track of theirs but have never followed up with anything else. |

I've listened to the new track at least 30 times by now.
did it ever climax
more like 10,000 aenimas.
I just bought a nifty new garden shovel, and a drill bit.
there new album is very intresting to me now it took a while for it to grow on me
Hate tool fans but the actual music is alright imo
Listened to them for the first time today. Went through Undertow and a few tracks off Aenema. I won't lie, it was pretty boring.
I guess they were important historically, as precursors of the whole metal revival in the early/mid 90s? You had to be there I guess. |
Not really. I still enjoy them to this day.
Different strokes and all that. Also, it's not really the type of music that's gonna hit hard on your first playthrough. |
Also they were boring in the 90s too.
They should have just released this tune and then ended it.

I mean, when I say boring, it's just that they don't seem to have any discernable hooks. I like their sound, the guitar, the bass, the drums, but I didn't catch any memorable song. The vocals are probably the weakest part.
Tool are fine. Lateralus is probably their best album as an overall experience, but 10,000 Days does have some great hooks.
Seeing them live years ago has forever solidified my opinion of them. They'll always be excellent in my book.
Ja, seeing them live really helped me realize how much Maynard ****ing sucks and that their fans are even worse.
At Ozzfest 98 there was a blue statue of him placed on stage during their setup, and then when they started the show it came to life. It WAS Maynard.
https://c.tenor.com/VvZdT8fG4p4AAAAM/woah-whoa.gif I give him a lotta credit for being able to sit still for that long. |
