When you listen to music, MUSIC is the only thing that you should have in mind. I don't agree with Varg in most of the things, but he makes great music. I can't wait for the new album.

Yeah exactly. I don't let lyrical content or a person making the musics views get in my way of enjoying the music the person is making. If it werent for interviews with Varg I would have no clue of his views and I doubt many people would.

Yeah I enjoy Burzum for sure. Filosofem and the self titled are my favorites.

Filosofem is one of my all time favorites. Dunkelheit is the best song.

Lyrics are just as much a part of the music. Accepting or rejecting their content is one thing, but pretending they don't matter is another.

they don't when they are incomprehensibly screamed in a language you don't understand

not to mention they are far from overtly racist - if even at all - which i do not recall. at least for the albums i have read the lyrics for. mostly about castles and forests and ****.

Quoted me before I could edit it. Yeah I post before I think. I still think i'd feel uncomfortable listening to it. But then again, even with the murder and arson and what have you... the whole motif is kind of silly.

When night falls
she cloaks the world
in impenetrable darkness.
A chill rises
from the soil
and contaminates the air
suddenly...
life has new meaning.

Here are the lyrics of my favorite Burzum song. Is ther something in particular in these lyrics that should make me uncomfortable listening to Burzum?

I have a feeling that if I'd written that I don't listen to U2 because I think Bono is a douche, then more people would have understood.

Read, you'll see it's not about the lyrics (which I understand perfectly well in a literal sense). However, it's alright for me if you don't get it. It's not like I have to turn Varg's fans away from him. I'm starting to regret bringing it up in the first place.

If you don't care what kind of person makes the music you listen to, fine. I do, I wouldn't want to listen to Charles Manson either.

Sounds pretty boring. What's Varg going to do next, a f#*@cking album about fairies and elves?

it's black metal, who cares about the lyrics anyway? You don't need to be a wonderful person to make good black metal. you don't even need to be nice
