I really liked 16 Stone. Of course they were "ripping off" Nirvana and Pearl Jam, but that was probably what they were listening to at the time and wanted to do. Gavin's lyrics kinda suck, but there just a good overall band, at least for that album.

I love the bass playing on this record to especially "Swim" and of course "Comedown" which is one of the most famous bass lines in the last 20 years, I think that part is very overlooked. Not the best band, but they don't deserve all the criticism they get on the net.

The singles were great, and there were a few other gems thrown in too like "Swim" and "Testosterone". It's the only album from them I would care to listen to, but I'm not upset about it and still listen to it everyonce in a while.

I think that accolade goes to the Foo Fighters, who grew out of the remanents of Nirvana and carried on their work in a more harmonic, positive and life-affirming style. Wheras Bush were a pretty cluless wannabe version of Nirvana.

I think where you`ve written the words "Ripping" and "Gavin`s lyrics kinda suck" says it all really. I find Bush probably one of the worst mainstream bands to have ever come out of the UK. When I think of Nirvana and Bush I think of gold and copper, when I think of Kurt Cobain and Gavin Rossdale I think of diamonds and brass.

I once read an interview with Gavin Rossdale, that stated that the group were not trying to copy Nirvana (which is laughable) but had instead based themselves on the Pixies (Sounds like Kurt here)........I find his references quite insulting to both either Nirvana or the Pixies.

I think either the group`s drummer or bass player used to be in Transvision Vamp......Now that`s something to be ashamed of.

I think Bush should`ve done the decent thing and that was to have simply passed themselves off as a Nirvana covers band.

maybe it's because I am a child of the '90s, but I really enjoy grunge. Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam mostly.

Was never a huge fan of Alice in Chains but I recognize what a great singer Layne Staley was and see why people love the group. As for Pearl Jam...Well its kind of what could`ve been really. Great singer and great musicians and one or two good albums but the vast majority of their material could be classified as dodgy sounding

Still made at least 6 great songs. Don't really care bout the posing, long as they can play it right.
