Funny, but Slipknot are legit, and Stone Sour aren't half bad, so you can keep your face paint.

Slipknot ****ing suck and Stone Sour are... kinda better? Kinda worse? Garbage. Yes, garbage will do.

I'm no Slipknot fan by any means but in no dimension is Stone Sour better.

I like Slipknot. They are my poppy watered down version of what you like, Batlord.

I don't like Slipknot or Stone Sour either, but Slipknot's disowned debut album Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. is a fantastic album that sounds like a different band. Death metal, funk, and lounge jazz all in one song:

Nah their debut is just as corny. There are some decent cuts off of Iowa imo. Stone Sour is basically just Staind. They use acoustic guitars because they're serious and very mature.

More like KMFDM doing death metal really poorly. And all that other **** just sounds like Slipknot had no idea how to transition between genres so they just slapped a jump cut on there cause "Whoa, dude!"

Yah, I’m out of my depth here. I just like their music :thumb:

The Slipknot debut is semi-interesting but they ape Mr. Bungle's musical eccentricities too much for my taste.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it actually reminds me of when the members of A7X did avant-garde metal with the short-lived band Pinkly Smooth, though if they were more successful than Slipknot in the endeavor I'm not sure. It's not exactly played perfectly or produced well either.

Slapping together disparate genres and filtering them through a heavy lens stopped being avant-garde after Naked City did it.
