Been there done that. Switzerland on Friday night. DON'T believe the hype. Many people were disappointed.

I think this would be an amazing tour... in 1987. Now, not so much.

Anthrax played at 1 in the afternoon and Rise Against WTF were second highest on the bill. It was supposed to be the big 4 tour but it was seriously demeaned by the running order.

Plus points: joey was back on vocals for Anthrax. Dave Ellefson back on bass for Megadeth and Anthrax paid a musical tribute to Ronnie James Dio.

The concert at Bulgaria was streamed live to a movie theater yesterday. I was late getting there, so I only caught Metallica's set. People were dancing on the stairs and there was a mini mosh pit down by the screen.
Near the end, all four bands came out and covered "Am I Evil" by Diamond Head, which was pretty cool.

One of the Sonisphere dates was also being screened live across select Odeon cinemas. I wish id been able to go, it would have been interesting.

Okay, so this whole tour is pretty cool, but there's one thing I don't get: why wouldn't they do it in USA? Seeing a they're all American bands.

This was a way to "try" it out without any complications (Dave vs. James). All bands said they are willing to do a USA summer tour in 2012 when all other commitments are completed. Metallica has 2 months off and they are doing the Pacific leg of World Magnetic. Megadeth is touring this summer in USA w/ Testament & Slayer. Anthrax is still putting on the finishing vocals to their new disc. So, they said everyone involved enjoyed this and want to do a big tour.

The theater show was amazing. Lars did say there would be a DVD at the end of the show.

BTW, Megadeth is also releasing the 20th anniversary Rust In Peace Live in September, filmed in California earlier this spring.
The theater feed is out there for anyone who missed it... if you know where to look
