I don't listen to too many bands who go beyond the five minute mark often (except for Tool) so these are the ones that stand out:
I think what makes a good five minute plus song is when it is based around a nice, simple riff and gets slowly expanded and built up and jammed. I think that's a quality you find in most of these songs...

I would much prefer 10+ minute songs. It limits the choices and means that you have to look harder for choices and actually listen to the damn things.

the full song is actually 10:04, but I guess it had to be shaved down for youtube. Still, it's a very good song. The last three minutes are the best <3 A Don Caballero favourite. My all-time favourite TMV song ![]() Maserati's best song, IMO Groovy. Since almost all of my library is over five minutes, you should make it ten minutes instead. |
