Default The Velvet Underground

Well, at the beginning, I liked a few of their songs and thought they were okay. A few years later, I discovered people considered their work genius or "arty." Songs like "The Black Angel's Death Song" were considered brilliant, and I looked at them and simply thought they were pretentious (have you HEARD it? It's horrible). But recently, I looked deeper into them and found a lot of genius and innovation with their work. I found Heroin to be impossibly amazing and Venus in Furs is just a bad ass song. That's my story with this band. I would like to hear yours. Tell me what you think. If we could set up a small debate about them, that would be cool too (as long as it's civil).
