i bought some of there albums they where ok so i disagree there the best metal band in this era ....

i think bands like Testment or Megadeth are more "metal" then them

Dream Theater are not afraid to try other things and riffs that are not metal so yeah

Except for Morrissey.

But usually I find the best musicians/songwriters are huge pricks.

Case in point: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, Lou Reed, Roger Waters, Elvis Costello, Billy Corgan, Rick Wakeman, Sting, Metalica, Damon Albarn.... Morrissey.

A lot of the big indie icons are huge elitist pricks too. Especially Albini and Malkmus. Dear god.

I mean that on a personal and subjective level of course.

But I dunno, there's just something about the way he sings where that assh*le vibe comes through. It's not as much of a problem with The Smiths, they were good. But his solo stuff is really horrendous IMO.

As much as I love Meat is Murder the album, I also think the title track is the worst song anyone has ever written. Ever.
