I know the difference. Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer sound very different when compared Iron Maiden. I was just unclear on whether or not Iron Maiden formed that sound that we all know of. It's good to know that they did something innovative.

Just think of Black Sabbath as the grandaddy of heavy metal and Iron Maiden as the father. They were the most influential band from the new wave of british heavy metal and a major influence on the future thrash metal bands of the 80`s and a multitude of other metal acts. For that reason alone they deserve to be inducted.

As said above the Hall of Fame is a joke, especially if they`re thinking of including a band like Def Leppard!!! Whatever next........Bon Jovi or are they already inducted!

It always surprises me when people mention Blue Cheer in the presence of other great bands, in this case in the presence of Black Sabbath.

Blue Cheer were by and large a very untalented band who just happened to play blues rock very loud, apart from their debut album which is ok, the rest of their discography is rather poor.
