Metallica definitely aren't the worst metal band out there - sure they kinda fell from their mantle as the greatest, most unbeatable band of their era, and now their work is somewhat patchy at best.... but that certainly doesn't make them the worst... that's kinda pushing it I think!

Exactly. Even if they have been slippin, they certainly don't deserve a worst spot. I actually hear their new album's an improvement from their other recent work.

I quite liked the new one - there are points at which all the rehashing makes you kinda wonder why they made a new album instead of getting by on their back catalogue - but honestly, its a good, solid set of muscular metal songs, well played, executed and even quite exciting in places... Kinda fulfilled all the things I wished St. Anger would be.... solos, better drum sound, etc...
