Personally, I hate Job for a Cowboy. The only good song is Entombment of the Machine, and that is only because there is a part where a woman randomly screams. Kinda funny. 5FDP is really good though. I would argue that "Never Enough" is their most popular song but all their stuff is pretty good. I like their second album the better of the two.

I've only heard two of their songs, some random, boring, toned down, metalcore, what-ever-ness and that cheesy cover of "Bad Company".

They certainly are not metalcore. Not even close. Some sort of power groove genre would define their sound much better. Just because they incorporate melody doesn't mean they are "toned down" either. They are an above average band that plays very passionately in their live sets. They only problem I have with them is that the lyrics aren't exactly what you would call "deep."

Jfac go allright, DOOM was exciting when it came out although I'm very glad knowing that they were the first band to turn away from the pile of crap that is Deathcore.

That's not metalcore?! The song starts with a beatdown for Christ's sake! Then the guy starts screaming just like any other metalcore band. Then he starts with the emo singing just like any other metalcore band. So yeah, metalcore.

I think you mean "breakdown" but even then you wouldn't have used the term correctly. A breakdown is when the tempo slows, the beginning of the song begins with a mini solo and only maintains its tempo into the verse. As for the screaming generalization, I guess Cannibal Corpse must be metalcore now because they use harsh vocals. No comment on the "emo singing." Its not worth dignifying with a response.

Dude, I've heard that same thing fifty million times with fifty million other metalcore bands.

Seriously? That's just weak. If you can't see how that singing is just a rip off of Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, Unearth, etc, etc, etc then I can't help you.

The only slight resemblance I could see from that list is Trivium, MAYBE. Unearth's vocals can be likened to the sound of someone pooping , AILD typically uses a full on death growl, and Killswitch has the whole guttural/operatic dynamic. FFDP's sound is like a worse pantera with more melodic vocals

So because their voices sound different, they are not using similar styles? Just because you like FFDP doesn't mean they're not derivative. I listen to Trivium and As I Lay Dying, but I still understand thay they're derivative.

I recognize that they're derivative, just not from metalcore. The members of the band came from W.A.S.P. and a nu-metal outfit called motograter just for reference
