Just want to point out that osme bands get labeled as christian rock without deserving it.

Ex: Chevelle looked for a record label to sign with for a long time and the only one that would was a christian label. As a result they have always been thought of as a christian rock band because of it. This im sure happens with many other bands as well, whom are just looking to get signed.

I think something similar like that happened to Flyleaf and they haven't been able to live down the christian comparison

Default Petra

Petra is the ultimate Christian Rock Band, they had a countless number of hits within the genre. I saw them in concert years ago and they were awesome, a good rock concert.

The band Argent originally wrote "God Gave Rock & Roll To You", but Petra performed the best version. Of course not holding into account, Kiss's stage show.

The lyrics kinda ruin what rock/metal is supposed to be about.

mewithoutYou is one of my all time favorite bands, though Aaron Weiss has said that they are not a "Christian" band. Also, I really like Switchfoot and I don't care who knows it! Jon Foreman (singer of SW) has some of the BEST folk solo albums I've heard in a long while.

^I kinda get the same vibe listening to Christian Rock also.^

It seems like Petra is the "King James" version of Christian Rock these days.
Who is one of the best of Modern Times, in the Christian Rock genre?

Anyone Know?

Why do you agree with that? I'm curious is all.

It's like you lump metal into this category where they are only supposed to talk about demons/devils and dragons.

Lol, I've personally got no problems with lyrically christian rock or metal, I think sometimes it sounds like they're trying too hard. But to be honest I can generally find a better quality secular artist than a christian one, just talking about pure songwriting and musical ability.

Oh no..its entirely nothing like that. Its because some of the bands are so very talented and actually good rock bands musically, not to be on the more popular rock/metal charts for example. And as far as the lyrics are concerned, I would prefer lyrics written more like Journey, or possibly in the style of the Scorpions.

I can see why you might assume the above though.
